Project Details

DP World Tour is the professional golf organisation formed in 2022 made up of DP World and European Tour Group. The group is responsible for growing the game of golf globally hosting an international tournament schedule across 27 countries.

Liquid was appointed to support DP World Tour in the promotion of the 2023’s edition of Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at the Belfry (Birmingham, UK), raise awareness within the West Midlands community, generate talk-ability about the tour and encourage ticket sales.

Betfred British Masters

What we did

A two-pronged approach was developed to build anticipation through a local stunt activation, alongside a busy media relations focused press office. Both to target and enhance awareness among local audiences of the Betfred British Masters.

Results

The team achieved a golfing world first, bringing the legendary Belfry Brabazon course’s 10th hole water hazard to the Birmingham city centre. Professional golfer and local, Richard Mansell achieved a world first in front of eager crowds by teeing off from the roof of Utilita Arena onto a target installed on the canal below in the thrilling stunt. The anticipation was then further supported with a busy press office calendar of content to maintain local interest in the weeks leading up to the tournament.
