Liquid kicks off a winning sponsorship with West Midlands junior football team
Integrated marketing and communications agency, Liquid, has partnered with Staffordshire-based Midland Soccer Academy to sponsor the under-eight football team kit, as part of its 20 Acts of Kindness campaign.
Liquid’s new electric blue logo, featuring the slogan ‘Creating Conversations for 20 years’, was announced earlier this year as part of an identity rebrand in honour of the agency’s 20-year anniversary and will appear on the front of both the orange and green outfield player kits as well as the black goalkeeping shirt.
The Midland Soccer Academy was founded back in 2013, allowing volunteers to provide football training to people from the ages of five and above in the Burntwood community. Multiple teams compete across differing age brackets and divisions, with the over 65s walking football team current reigning English champions and the over 63s and 67s crowned Birmingham League winners for the 2023/24 term.
Elisabeth Lewis-Jones, CEO of Liquid, said: “We’re incredibly passionate about sport, especially football and giving back to our local communities. Grassroots initiatives are so important, and we’re excited to see these young footballers grow and succeed both on and off the field.”
Training at Brownhills High School in Walsall, the current under-eight team will compete in the South Staffordshire Junior League, aiming to build on reaching two cup finals and keeping over 30 consecutive clean sheets last season, conceding their only goals of the campaign in their final league game.
The academy follows an inclusive and non-selective model, with all players welcome to join regardless of their ability, gender or age, and aims to generate community spirit, camaraderie and friendship through personal involvement.
Oliver, team member of the Midland Soccer Academy under eight side, said: “I love playing for the team, we are all friends and training is lots of fun. My favourite day of the week is Sunday’s because that’s when we get to play matches. I can’t wait until the season starts again!”
Training sessions for the junior team are already underway in preparation for the new season kicking off in September 2024, and Liquid hopes to help inspire another successful year with this new partnership.
