Our new home in Waterloo Street is in the heart of the city’s business and finance district, and it’s a cracker.

Situated on the third floor of New Oxford House, an Art Deco building completed in 1936, the interior is flooded with natural light.

We’ve installed a bespoke professional kitchen for our food projects, including product and recipe development, food styling and photo shoots. There are gorgeous private meeting rooms, break-out areas – including our fledgling indoor “allotment” – and a mini theatre for presentations.

It really is the office of dreams, all 3,608 sq ft of it (and we’re totally not biased).

Liquid’s growth has been rapid but sustained over the last few years with the addition of new clients and team members, and the new office provides a brilliant launchpad for our continued business expansion.

We are delighted our move to Waterloo Street from Edmund Street, where we have been based since 2014, means we remain part of the Colmore Business District, of which our chef director David Colcombe is a board director.

It’s also great to know our new base has a place in Birmingham’s past as New Oxford House was designed by S N Cooke, who also worked on the Hall of Memory, which opened in 1925.

Needless to say, the moving process involved lots of bubble wrap, countless boxes and copious mugs of tea. But it has definitely been worth the hard work.

CEO Lis Lewis-Jones says: “Moving to New Oxford House is an important part of Liquid’s long-term growth strategy.

“We looked at several sites in Birmingham as we had a specific brief – to find a space that gave us a central location, provided plenty of breakout spaces for formal meetings and informal interactions, and allowed us to realise our ambition of creating a stunning kitchen to develop the Liquid food offer.”

Location played a key part in the final decision to make a new home at New Oxford House.

Lis says: “We are just five minutes’ walk from New Street, which means we are easily accessible to the rest of the country and only 10 minutes by train from Birmingham Airport.

“As a born and bred Brummie, I am immensely proud of our roots and Birmingham’s heritage as a city of a thousand trades. Our new home in the heart of the historic commercial quarter underlines our commitment to the city and its thriving creative community and business economy.
