A year with Liquid
As my internship at Liquid comes to an end, I’ve begun reflecting on what a year it has been.
Over the last 12 months, I have had the opportunity to work for the best PR agency in Birmingham and it shows. I have learnt a tremendous amount while working alongside a wealth of talented people who have helped me develop and grow into my role.
Highlights
Throughout the year, I have thrown myself into all tasks, always willing to try something new and develop my skills. Coming from a non-PR background I can safely say I have learnt a lot about successful communications and working life.
Some of my personal highlights from the year include my promotion to Account Executive, my nomination for the PR Internships & Apprenticeships Awards 2020, securing coverage for the British Transplant Games on CBBC Newsround and in the Daily Express, and being trusted to attend client events/ meetings on behalf of Liquid on my own. The great responsibility which I have been given is testament to the team’s trust in me.
Campaigns
A lot has changed over the year from office moves, to new team members, to remote working, but it is an opportunity I am extremely grateful for and one that has set the foundations for a future career in PR. From day one Liquid has given me great responsibility for projects which has only grown throughout the year; I have had the chance to work on some amazing projects including Abergavenny Food Festival, The British and World Transplant Games and Maple from Canada’s Pancake Day Event to name a few.
One of my campaign highlights at Liquid was Maple from Canada’s event at the Canadian High Commission for Pancake Day. Having never experienced event organisation before this was an excellent way for me to showcase the skills I had learnt over the year and confidence when undertaking tasks. The event is one I will never forget and has helped me to juggle my time and multiple projects simultaneously (which will hopefully help me when I go back to university next year to complete my degree).
Working for Liquid has been a whirlwind year with no two days being the same. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities I have been given and can’t wait to see what the future holds. Although this may be the end of an incredible year with Liquid, I hope it won’t be goodbye.
